NTC Issues
Order for PLDT competitor to stop all selling new mobile phones
for two months.
The price to pay for attending anti-Erap rallies may be, as in
my own telecom experience, quite expensive. However bad the service
of the Giant Telco may be, the fact is that former lawyers of
the PLDT are now Commissioners in the National Telecommunications
Commission. Which now gives unfair advantage to the Indonesian-backed
PLDT, a company whose ownership may not even be truly Filipino
but still be allowed to trespass the Pinoys rights as a consumer.
08 Dec 2000
PLDT system answers their service telephone number after only
340 rings, consumer faints. ER doctors claim caller went into
shock after actually hearing a voice answer on the other end.
Upon awakening, the woman, an insomniac, explained that for years
she would listen to the endless ringing of the phone to lull her
to sleep. PLDT spokesmen immediately denied the claim, stating
that this was impossible because all their personalized customer
service numbers are either left unanswered or emit busy signals.
They are set to file a lawsuit against Madame X for having the
nerve to complain about PLDT service.
