Under the guise of doing a story about unlocking cell phone PUKs in Greenhills, the GMA 7 Saksi news tonight had a Virra Mall hacker saying that they are able to get secret information from Globe employees on what the PUK's serial numbers were. Why is this bothersome? Because although the story was touted to be about "cell phone companies", the news segment clearly targeted the Globe phone company. This was clearly obvious when they even had a "supposed" hacker revealing that he calls the Globe Center and his "contact" would give him the details. Fair news reportage would have been if they had also mentioned or included the fact that PLDT cell phone companies that also can have their PUK's unlocked. They are like, from the same maker, duh. But I guess that is part of the reason PLDT bought the GMA Network. To demolish the competition. Is that how badly Smart is faring, Mr. Tony Samson, (President of the company that owns GMA 7)? So bad that you are now using our media to fire broadsides at the competition? Do the country a favor. Resign and move to Indonesia. They are in sore need of propagandists over there.

Unlike PLDT, we post records pertaining to the civil case PLDT
(the telephone company) filed VS. Me (www.pldt.com,the
anti-metering website) and a group of consumers who are
anti-metering advocates. They have gone so far as to restrict
the use of even tape recorders during the proceedings, we, on
the other hand, openly invite the general public to attend the
hearings. Full Court Documents available here
