wow pare bad trip si kulot.

"Is our country going to be all right?" read Fr. Donelan's homily. As true now as it was a decade ago.

Filipinos ignore it and it will go away habit about to be debunked in a big way as People Power 3 slowly comes to surface. Unfinished business? Lots. Criminals on the loose? Not really. They are, after all, running for Congress, so they have to be good, right?

PLDT claims five million phones exist in country
. Right. Three million for the citizens and two million in PLDT Chairman Manny Pangilinan's name.

Tatad's "referred pain" plan exposed. It was revealed yesterday that Senator Kit Tatad is behind the text and email propaganda war being waged against Senator Miriam "Cambridge" Santiago. Tatad's political team has been deflecting all the flak against Tatad to the other Senators in order to save his neck. It was revealed that Tatad, a faux Holy Man, has now to find a church that will give him access to a service. Miriam had no comment as she was rushing off to C.M. Recto to have her newest diploma "framed".

Wong's right to be heard. The AFP's Chief of Staff hurriedly offered Admiral Wong a position that would be equal to the weight the board he wears on his shoulders. A three-star position is not that easy to find, but Reyes produced one in an attempt to silence the Admiral of the Navy. Early newspaper reports claimed that Wong was responsible for a possible mutiny by the Marines under his command. It was later revealed that all he had done was to expose the purchase of inferior quality Kevlar helmets for his soldiers and a purchase of HK assault rifles that allegedly went directly to the blackmarket.

Dealing with the Philippine Justice system and those who buy their way out. Feb 26, 2001
Snatch a P5,000 cell phone and get thrown in jail for months, even years. Plunder an entire nation's economy and feel free to hold almost nightly parties at your mansion. The justice system remains the same. Those with the Gold get out of jail free, while those with no resources rot in jail.
Unfortunately, instead of EDSA2 giving us a chance to address this problem squarely, politics remained the more important priority. So what if the nation is in a crisis. Elections are fun! They must continue no matter what. Because what is now important is that new turncoats keep their seats in order to protect the party for 2004. And for that to be real to political parties, is they need to find sources of funding. Hence, the people who should be charged as Imelda and her ilk should have been in 1986 are still scot-free. They were called cronies then. But today they are called "victims". Of course, they may be 'willing' victims to the politicians who extract campaign funds for them, but hey, at least they are spared from being lumped along with erap.
From the looks of it, Erap may be soon out of the woods too. Leaving the ordinary people, watching in amazement as the very people who collaborated with Erap to further their own selfish business interests are now considered 'victims' of the ex-President. Well, if they are victims, then the rest of the population are the casualties, the "DOA"s.
Let money talk in this banana republic. Go let those who would, grab their fifteen minutes of fame for a "victorious" revolt. Victorious for them, we guess, as they are now in power. Justice for the people? The people have served their purpose. They were needed to take down the Erapus and are needed no longer.
Still the bottom line remains. Until some people are charged and even punished, no foreign investor we spoke with will invest here, it just don't make any sense for them. And our children will grow up learning that the only way to happiness is via lots of money.
And it makes those who went to Edsa 2 kinda wonder what the TV specials on EDSA were all about. Oh- right, the 'new and improved' cronies had to make money- selling ad spots.

Note* No less than the new President shall be guesting at the launch of Manny Pangilinan's newest venture- his TV station and newspaper project rolled into one. Good PR by this Hong Kong based businessman. How can they now dare charge him with anything to do with Erap, after the president herself graces his new "business venture". Can she do that, knowing full well this man's involvement with Erap? Or is this the famous "new politics"?
Well, maybe in six months when the little press we have starts stifling stories to suit Pangilinan's profile as a man for all seasons we shall realize what a folly this was.
After all, his company's influence on media is legendary.

Got a Dear GK letter today.
H
ere it is. Maybe it will give you guys some food for thought:
Sayang wala ka sa NBC Big Tent kagabi for the MTV Launch. Manny Pangilinan was on stage with Donita Rose, naks. Pareho pa silang single. Anyway here was the music media predicament I was discussing with some of the record company people there:
1) PLDT acquired rights to MTV Philippines through Mediaquest (NBC)
2) PLDT acquired GMA
3) GMA runs Channel [V] Philippines
4) Ergo PLDT now runs MTV Philippines and Channel [V] Philippines
There's an obvious conflict of interest here and I bet you a fondue that the foreign partners are probably having a fit over this awkward situation.

Loud Whispers
No sooner had PLDT bought into GMA Network...
PDI and GMA are tied up in the online paper that is Inq7.net. From here our story begins:
The scuttlebutt around the copy room is that Tita Letty and even Mang Gani are reportedly being eyed for an ease-out. Well, considering the type of dirty tricks the new owners of GMA are masters of, this should not be surprising. Hoping against hope, but snakepits abound, and where the PLDT (champion of the cause of "envelopmental journalism") hangs out, rest assured corruption is on its way. There should be a special place in hell for those who have contributed so much to the corruption of our media people. First, GMA, next the PDI?
That's the story.

Wake-up calls:

Pimentel - Strike Two.
Sister Christine Tan wrote the Today paper to clarify Pimentel's statement that she "exonerated" Loi Ejercito. This site opts to believe Sister Tan. Pimentel is the same Senator who likewise declared before the country that the Kompil 2 Jericho March was allowed to walk around the Senate. The truth is that he had banned us from doing so. So much for this "new and improved" recycled trapo.

Mr. Datumanong is all set to massacre magnificent trees on Quezon Avenue. Take your last photos before this People Power inspired new Cabinet Secretary murders Mother Nature right before our very eyes. Only God can make a tree, sir. Even Erap's billions can't make a seed grow.

PDI- Why give Barican a nice place on your editorial page and relegate one of our greatest modern writers (Conrado) to an inner page? No one reads that slob's work anyway. He looks too much like the doddering Erap mouthpiece that he was and probably still is in his heart.

pldt.com <whispers...>
The PLDT executive, allegedly, reportedly and supposedly the most highly paid manager in Hong Kong and close, close friend to the Salims, Eraps and Suhartos of this world has trained his guns at the Philippine government and its Department of Environment and Natural Resources. The PLDT (read: giant telco with tentacles now gripping the country's television networks and radio stations) is allegedly, reportedly and widely rumored to be expanding into the Internet. He claims that "this will put us ahead of all our neighbors, like India and Singapore". The PLDT Chairman has ordered his Chief of Many Minions (that's spelled S-A-M-S-O-N) to sic their sycopanthic horde of media dogs on the government official who recently ordered a Total Log-In Ban.

Where have all the lawsuits gone, long time passing?
where have all the lawsuits gone, long time ago.
where have all the lawsuits gone, gone to Desierto every one, when will we ever learn, when will we ever learn?

But wait, maybe there were no real cronies to begin with. After all it may have been all Syerap's ideas and dealings? Maybe behind that thick skull, basting in a pool of alcohol are some of the longest tendrils the world has seen since Albert Einstein!! It is turning out that he single-handedly robbed the nations coffers and bled business dry..
Since hardly any cronies are being charged by the GMA government, are
we about to witness the biggest cover up since Amari?

No to Makati Jail for Ex-President-Binay/PLDT hatching escape plan?
A secret plan to free President deposed Estrada by ex-MMDA Chairman and Estrada loyalist Jeojomar Binay in connivance with PLDT was revealed to day by a secret agent. The source, who refused to reveal his rank in the MMDA Intelligence Unit, claimed that as early as now, there are plans being drawn up by the ex-Mayor with the connivance of the Chairman of the local telecommunications company PLDT. The plan involves the use of PLDT repair vehicles to disable telephone and electricity cables from the area surrounding the City Jail, creating chaos and confusion. The Binay swat teams shall then effect the release of their President and hide him in one of at least a dozen PLDT service vehicles, which will then speed away in all directions, leaving pursuing law enforcement officers wondering which vehicle went where. The PLDT Chairman and close Erap supporter and crony has reportedly prepared a safe house among the vast properties and buildings belonging to the Fort Bonifacio Land Development Area, where Pangilinan keeps well-trained, tanned, muscular and handsome groups of local soldiers of fortune under the supervision of American mercenaries.

A Mad Miriam declares all Filipinos who do not possess high flatulent' masteral post-college degrees way insects, thereby effectively declaring her beloved deposed President as the biggest cockroach there ever was. Miriam also mentioned the fact that she currently packs an 8mm pistol in her bag. She claims that the law allows her to protect her life by using this pistol, and vowed to use it as well on persons who hurt her reputation as well. To our knowledge, the only 8mm cartridge that exists to shoot with is manufactured by Kodak. So unless our readers are excited about being shot on film by Miriam and bear the though of her watching your faces every night in her home theater, we strongly suggest you stay out of her way.

Powerful PLDT Public Relations wheels start to spin. Already, columnists have been proclaiming the innocence of poor, harmless and victimized people such as -Lucio Tan and whoa! Manny Pangilinan!! The claim of Today columnist Dan Mariano, as we see it, is that all Erap cronies should be sent to hell. Except for these two innocent, maligned men. Maybe the columnist, one of five who launched simultaneous attacks on this website for the Telco's in what can best be called a truly badly orchestrated media war against one webmaster, whose only tool is a keyboard. Wow, we are impressed, tough guy...

Surviving PLDT Phone Taps

"The biggest stumbling block to the country's development is the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company". DOTC former Sec. R. Reyes (The Philippines may be the only country in the world with PLDT public pay phones inside private homes as allowed by "relaxed rules" of the National Telecom Commission. We are sending this to the Guinness Book of World Records)
