Erap Appointee orders arrest of American
for calling "Erap and this
government corrupt". Let's see this tough government man do
the same to the Sumilao farmers or PAL employees. Or even
to an ordinary Filipino who isn't living off taxpayers money.

METERING- Coming sooner than
you think. Cronies get
what they want when they want it. Period. So when PLDT asked the
government for an authority to meter, it was granted one almost
overnight by then Commissioner Kintanar. However, implementation
was delayed due to various reasons, one of them being "vigorous
public objections" to the pay per minute plan. That was
yesterday. Today there was another American
"expert" in the limelight named Peter Wallace, who can
apparently dictate economic strategy to the entire Erap cabinet.
Or so it seems when he has Erap's men all nodding in agreement to the
imposition of metering or "the entire telephone industry will
collapse."
The government, it seems,
cannot impose PLDT's wishes without losing what little political clout
it has over the people, so it seeks an outsider to deliver the bad news
to the Filipino people. And since the guy is a white man, we are all supposed
to stand back in awe and nod our heads in agreement. Pweh. Take
your advice and shove it up some other stupid third world country's ass,
Mr. Wallace. We have to live here, you don't.

There is no truth to the rumor
that despite Indonesia buying up real
estate and big businesses in
the Philippines (through dummies) that Pinoys will have voting rights in
Djakarta.
American Propaganda Expert Kaplan
accuses RP press of being overly-critical of Erap.
Hey, a million dollars a
year they pay you, and that's all you have to say? Call Ronnie

Manila's monopoly players get together in bid to dominate Internet -
so much for the level playing field. (Oh no, I was going for Park
Place.-Onel)
Pathetic is when your government will
send planeloads of gov't officials, friends and cronies on a US junket
to see Bill Clinton yet claim to have no money to rescue 200 Filipinos
stranded in the Solomons. Good ol' Stormeng Domeng does it again
by proclaiming no hope of rescue for those Pinoys. Gee, thanks!
How do you know you're in
a republic gone bananas?
- When the ombudsman clears police officials linked
by written evidence to a gambling syndicate ( even before trial), but allows 26 Muslims to be arrested
sans warrant - beaten and languishing behind bars.
-when different foreign governments tell you what your policy
against terrorism is, and
you believe them. We can't object because Siazon wouldn't
want to hurt their feelings as he is busy winning their votes in bid for
the next UN Sec. Gen. seat.
Police report a crime rate up by 17% this year but credit this to a more
cooperative public, who, they claim now report crimes when before
they would not. PLDT.COM is also sure that the rising crime rate has
nothing to do with the record number of unemployed because, as
Sec. Medalla said, the fault lies with global competition. In other
let's-blame-the-other-guy news, Senators Enrile and Drilon blamed Malaysia for
the hostage situation in Jolo.
Foreign Affairs
Will someone please tell 'Stormeng
Domeng' Siazon that he has a snowball's chance in hell of becoming Sec-Gen of the Untied
Nations? All the boo-boos of
this alleged Atenean, in his eagerness to show cooperation (read
sipsip) with every country but his own, have been duly noted by the
world, and more importantly, his own country.

Why PAL jets carry lead pipes on
board is the real question. Hasn't Lucius ever heard of unleaded
fuel? Manila News Item
A crew member of Continental Micronesia airline reportedly ran amuck today at the NAIA hitting a Korean national with a lead pipe on the
head. Paulino Pamplona Jr., 23 years old, mistook Han Jong Suk, 44, as the man who ran away with his long-time girl
friend. Han was onboard a Philippine Airlines flight for Cagayan de Oro when the incident took place.
Philippine Daily Inquirer - Erap

ABS-CBN
- NTC has shelved PLDT metering plans. (10PM Business News show, June

NTC Director Ed Cabarios - (over
the phone, June 16 AM) No
orders have been received to implement PLDT metering scheme. However
they are waiting on DOTC's USec Bengzon to give policy guidelines for
metering. No knowledge of either new report as listed above. An
executive order from the President can grant PLDT's request to
meter. So can either congress or the DOTC.

PLDT is only the tip of the
iceberg.... even before the PLDT
deal, there was Mabuhay

Pasifik Satelit Nusantara in Mabuhay Satellite.... major water supply project in Cebu City.
PLDT is merely the latest acquisition, buyout, or buy-in of Philippine icons by the
Suharto-Liem group.... look at First Pacific's moves into the
Philippines in a broader context-its business operations were facilitated
by the close friendship between (the late dictator Ferdinand) Marcos and
Suharto, which continued under (President Fidel V.) Ramos......Where are all the Filipinos fighting Marcos-style cronyism?
Have they all fallen asleep after Marcos' fall and allowed Suharto's people to take over quietly?....For
instance, during the negotiations on the sale of Fort Bonifacio, Liem stepped in directly by getting the top taipans in Southeast Asia to form

Congratulations to Cong.
Suarez and Sen Enrile for finding a really sneaky way of
toppling the present regime. They are trying to pass a new tax on vehicles that have vehicle owners up in arms.
Knowing that they can't get to Lucio Tan via the BIR, they are now trying to use people power to counter the government's plans to impose harsh taxes on the middle and lower class while allowing the elitist upper class
tax incentives. Hope your plan works. Hope it even exists,
for your own political survival.
OPM,AMP, or KSP?
Guys, pakipansin naman si

President of fast failing third
world economy goes to secret hospital
for secret checkup.
Obviously in the abdominal area cause it may be medically unfeasible to
diagnose a brain problem in this person.
Fearless
Forecast? Several more months minimum for the hostage
situation to be resolved. The non-government is allowing all the politicians to angle for the spotlight and has absolutely zero
comprehension on how to deal with the Mindanao problem, being mostly from
Binondo and Viva Film studios. Terrorists will negotiate with someone they fear and respect, not with people they
laugh at.
The Fil-Chinese Chamber of
"Commerce", the
Philippine economic czars, led by Lucio Tan and a thousand strong, held their own "Independence day dinner" with Erap a few days before the 12th of June Philippine Independence day anniversary.
Interesting how the word independence has a different meaning in this country for politicians and the
new ruling elite. For most anyone else, it means the ability to enjoy one's
basic human rights. For those in power, it means how many of those rights they will allow the 70 million Filipinos to have.
Leadership by example.
If a soldier does what he sees his CIC do, who is to blame? The
Filipina is to be respected, even if the President of the Republic seems
to have a low esteem for them. file photo

Good news- Erap Government

Good news- there is a Plan B.
Bad news- It entails some ethnic cleansing in Mindanao.

Chinese Spy Boat Operated in Waters Near Japan
(article) TOKYO -- A Chinese navy intelligence vessel
conducted surveillance operations in the
Pacific off Japan's Boso Peninsula, southeast
of Tokyo, in late May, the Sankei Shimbun
newspaper reported Saturday.
Yeah, and against us they send cheap trawlers? And, oh yeah,
remember that the taxes presidential best pal Lucio pays to Red China
help fund our biggest enemy in the Spratlys.

No truth.
Well, not only anywhere in the
government, but to the rumor as well that Erapus, Lucio Tan and
Co. are pushing for this war in the south in order to deflect
media from the real problems facing the regime. Not to mention the
hawks in the military looking for an excuse to harass docile reporters. Note story about ISAFP harassment of journalists covering
the defense beat. Tsk tsk, not even mutineer Speight was that
arrogant. Wait, Marcos was, but he is supposed to be gone now.
ABU SAYYAF GROUP Rejects Imelda
for Hostage Swap. Foreign
journalists today reported that despite repeated attempts by the
government to offer Imelda as a swap for the hostages, the ASG remains
firm. An Abu Sayyaf spokesman said in an interview that "the
reason we are doing this is because we are broke. Now you wish to send
someone who will then steal what little we have! What kind of Christians
are you anyway? Are you nuts? We are a different type of terrorist,
please don't compare us to you know who."
Heartwarming news from the
world. Looks like
Chilean former strongman may yet get his day in court, and Suharto (the
friend of that PLDT guy) has his day in court in August. At least
some sanity going on elsewhere. Good luck world, cause we are
about to inflict ourselves upon you really soon.
Puzzles of the day.
Was Nandy Pacheco a middle
child? Has he or a member of his family ever been mugged? Driven alone
at night on a deserted provincial road? Gone out of his house after six
PM sans his yaya? Did he have a
bad childhood? Has he at least enjoyed the smell of napalm in the morning?
Is he really a CIA agent?
Marcos isn't dead, he is
reincarnated
as a fat, bumbling small town bully who was not content with
seeing the kids endure the stress
of having to trek to their first day of classes amidst the pollution,
traffic, heat, threat of bombs going off and amidst that all, hordes of
pot-bellied men walking around schools with M16 assault rifles. He
issued an executive order that made all school kids nationwide have to sing
a song he composed before they could start classes.
Ironically, the song was about hard work and love of country and
stuff like that. We can hardly wait for the part where kids have to practice
waving the Red Chinese flag as his friend tours Chinese officials around
"their" new countryside. Just like Imelda did with Lucius in
her time.

Coming soon to a street corner near you:
Many, many police checkpoints
and choke points. In case you have been away from the country or just
plain naive, it is getting clear to many that the Police (and we don't
mean Sting) are about to give us lessons in car maintenance. As you are
stopped in each check/choke point, you will be subjected to flashlights
shining in your face, men with long arms (as in M-16's hehe) all around
your car "checking " to see if you are either a subversive
communist, Moslem terrorist bomber, or not with your real wife.
And remember, they are the only ones who will have guns, because no more
gun permits are allowed. This exquisite form of martial law has
been slowly happening. I don't know about you, but I am buying
stickers of PAL, Asia Brewery and putting them all over my car.
This will guarantee some bit of politeness from the fascists as they may
deem me a close personal but non-cronical friend of the Man.
Because we all know that there is no cronyism in the Philippines.
Friends lang. Curfew passes, anyone? Sa bagay, bukas na

WARNING: BEWARE OF TOILET
Instead of
"Mabuhay" and sampaguita necklaces, what greets tourists at
the international airport is "Warning, beware of toilet! Beware of
toilet!" The mad toilet bombers strike again! This time it was the
NAIA arrival area's fecal depository that blew up. There were no flights
arriving at the time. Neither was anybody in the "c.r." when
the giant fart took place. At the rate they're
bombing all these toilets, maybe a review of waste disposal systems and
more frequent visits by Malabanan, et.al., are needed. In the
meantime, sales of Jingle Bags and Portapotties are seen to go through
the roof - as the shit hits the ceiling fan, so to speak.
