Manila pollution as only the Metro Manila Commission can give it to you.

thank you alvarez, binay and abalos

The good news from the Justice Department--more smoking guns found.
The bad news from the Justice Department--about the guns--mga cigarette lighter lang pala.

Filipinos love their country. The question remains though, as to which country they truly love. For, much as the administration faithfully answers Mother America's call to arms against the terrorists, it seems that forgotten has been that solitary remnant of the Sipadan raid by Kumander Robot--the lowly kusinero. Is it a cash deal with the yanks, or just yabang by the local Ambot na Amboys? The fact remains. Filipino farm workers taken prisoner by our own local terrorists are not that easily dismissed as collateral damage. They contribute by tilling the land. Some politicians loot it. Take your pick. We maintain however, that the value of any human life is the same all over the world. Regardless their self-perceived standing in society or legendary status in their own mind. It's how you treated your brother, man, not how much gold you stole. (ed.--at least that is what we hope)

PLDT.COM welcomes US Aid. However, can it be in the form of that Norman Vincent Peale book "How to Win Friends and Influence People? Maybe they can airdrop a million copies to the service industries/government agencies who still remain clueless as to what the word "service" means.

MMDA Master plan revealed? Our mole tells us that past administrations allowed all this pollution in an attempt to build the Metro Manila resident's immunity to poison gases. Someone must have forgotten to tell the fools, though, that their 'plan' is killing off more Filipinos by way of respiratory diseases than may die from an toxic gas assault. 10.16.01

Telcos get case against texting dismissed. PLDT's SMART implements "free text" reduction on same day, Sept. 14, 2001. Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judge dismisses consumer complaints about reduction of so-called free text messages by four GSM providers. It's back to the NTC now. (sigh) Juggling 7 Million users around must be fun for somebody. Read the court decision (needs Acrobat reader which you can download here.)

Justice Cruz on WTC Terror Attack and one Senator's reaction to it.

Garbage Scandal leaves Manila in the dumps. Stella Arnaldo writes.

Some blame the WTC attack on a 'failure of intelligence'. A tragic term that reaches new depths when used to describe the condition prevalent in our "august" (pronounced "aghast") Senate Halls. And yes, Mr. Jaworski, we know it is already September.

"Look Who's Talking III". This ain't no urban legend! She lays flowers for victims of the World Trade Center while there are still haunting stories about the Manila Film Center. In their rush to finish construction, a collapse during this structure's construction could have caused a possible delay, which caused consternation to the Marcos Administration and its foreign policy of trying to look pogi pero dehin goli (Looks good but stinks). Allegedly, construction workers were buried alive with steaming concrete so as to to accommodate the timetable set and not embarrass the hosts. Guests included George Hamilton. If you are below 30, ask your folks about this one. Better yet, go visit the Film Center at night. Then wonder what the hell that bouquet before the US Embassy was all about besides getting some PR mileage. For that we say- Ulirang Ina Mo!!Related story

Tatad Sighting!!! From a reliable source: The Ex-Marcos Press Secretary and Pro-Estrada Ex-Senator apparently frequents the EDSA Shangri-La Health Club. For any fans who may want his autograph, he's there from about 3PM onwards. We won't waste your time by putting a photo on the site. Too revolting.

NEWAt an eight-year low, PLDT shares appear to be selling at bargain-basement prices.

The price of long distance calls is dropping all over the world.
The only things that get dropped in these here parts are your actual calls.

Text war fought and lost.

"It was a very quiet Saturday for me with my cellphone switched off in sympathy for those protesting the proposed text cuts by cellphone providers. Like many others, I survived it and couldn’t understand why some couldn’t live that day without texting or calling.

Definitely the cellphone providers did not lose much revenue that day, but certainly the protesters have made their voices heard. We just hope the cellphone
providers were listening and act positively.

SENATE TO BE STORMED!!
The Senate building will be stormed once typhoon Jolina hits the NCR. Dumami bigla ang POKPOK ngayon!?!!

During Corpus' testimony, he was rebuked by Erap's Speaker of the Senate Nene Pimentel when he dared to mention the name of Mr. Lacson. Ironically, Lacson was supposed to be the focus of this discussion. Pweh. Nene Pweh. You lied to the entire country about the Jericho march. At least the cronies are honest enough to know they are cronies. They do not pretend to be "men of the people".

Question:
Why does the telephone company give Filipinos such a hard time?
Answer: So that they do not forget how the tyrant Marcos once ruled the country.
Remark: Is it not coincidental that Pangilinan orders the push towards phone metering and a cut-down in free text in time with the anniversary of our hero Ninoy Aquino?
